Card Game Process and Mechanics
We have already found out the card game is considered to be any activity performed by playing cards. Hundreds of card games are really exist (adding the related games of one separate family, as poker for example).
The majority of the games possess the standardized and stable rules. But in the same time the game peculiarities may vary according to region, culture or even person.
By-turn the basic card games process and mechanics stay the same and general for all the game types. Now let's consider the most principal and obvious of them.
Notorious Facts of Card Game Process
The players' arrangement is the first point for us to consider. It is a well-known practice for game participants to arrange themselves around the horizontal surface (a table usually, but not obligatory - use your imagination) in a form of a circle. The cards are played on this surface actually and the players are placed inwards to follow the game play (it goes without saying).
The deck is a pack of playing cards used during the given game process. The pack is formed with fixed number of cards (equal sizes and shape) which have the face and the back sides. The playing cards backs are indistinguishable. The face of the card is the identifiable part of it. All of them may be either unique or possess duplicates (depending on the type of a game).
The cards set is known by each game process participant for sure.
You see the cards are grouped into 4 rows according to their symbols shape. The symbol names follow the suits logically and sound as:
- Clubs
- Spades
- Hearts
- Diamonds (accordingly to rows).
By-turn the cards in each row are divided by their ranks. Thus we have (LTR) Aces, 2's, 3's, 4's, 5's, 6's, 7's, 8's, 9's, and 10's, Jacks, Queens and Kings conformably.
Action
Finally let's touch upon the deal theme. First we choose the player to deal. He takes all the cards, shuffle them and then deal to the players. All this time the cards must stay unseen for all the participants. According to card game rules, the dealing is performed either:
- clockwise or counterclockwise;
- one card at a time or maybe in groups;
- all the deck is dealt or some cards stay undelivered (and form the stock, talon or skat in the middle of the table)
The cards the player gets are called a hand.
When the dealing procedure is over - all the participants of card game pick up the dealt cards and try to hold them in a way that other players could not see their suits and ranks.
Then the game process actually begins.
